This is survivalist Bear Grylls at the biggest paintball event of the year. Day one, he’s laying down swaths of purple-blackberry and deep-chocolate paint on heavily guarded bunkers, his barrel slinging pepper and flint. By day four he’s deep behind enemy lines, alone in the pine-blanketed wilderness, roasting rabbit shanks over open fires at midnight, setting traps and foraging for wild herbs and chanterelles. He sleeps with one eye open for predators and combatants, even though everyone else went home last week.
